Class Work/Trabajo en clase
In Math, we started learning about division by focusing first on the equal groups (los grupos iguales) strategy. We will also be looking at fact families (las operaciones de familia), the number line (la recta numérica) and repeated subtraction (la resta repetida). In Spanish, we are practicing to record an oral an account of our Ozobots's travel through the maps of our imaginary cities. In Social Studies, we continue to work on chapter 4 and learning about the various governments and communities in Tunsia, Peru, India and Ukraine. In English, we continue to work on our mystery stories. In Science, we are getting ready to build our own instruments out of recycled materials.
Parents: Please note for this Science project, we are only hoping for use of recycled materials you have at your disposal at home. There is no need to purchase materials, but if absolutely necessary, the dollar store can be an option. Gracias!

MOVEMENT UNIT
Dear Dalhousie Families,
From April 11 – April 28, 2023, students will be participating in a movement/Mission Impossible unit in physical education. Within all physical education units, students have opportunities to develop their individual skill level, share their accomplishments and experience the satisfaction of teamwork in a safe and non-threatening atmosphere. In order for students to stay safe and have an enhanced learning experience, we ask that students follow the expectations listed below. We would like each student to review these guidelines with their parents as it will help them better understand the importance we place on safety.
Student Expectations:
- No jewelry, loose clothing, skirts or dresses should be worn during the unit
- Bare feet or gymnastics slippers can be worn on feet
- All long hair must be tied back or up
- Students will work independently or in small groups
- Students should work quietly as they practice movements as noise can distract others and may cause falls
- Children will only do what they are comfortable doing.
- Pyramid building is not an approved activity
- Students must land on their seat on the crash mat
- Although some students have had private gymnastics training, no aerial stunts such as dive rolls, somersaults, flips, head springs or hand springs are allowed as these do not fit into the curriculum.
Student safety is of the utmost import ance at Dalhousie. Please review these expectations with your child.

BREAKING NEWS: OUR CURRENT PLAYGROUND WILL BE REMOVED SUMMER 2024! - The CBE will be ripping the current playground out. If we do not come together and fundraise to build the new playground, the kids will be left with nothing. Check out the sign up if you are interested in becoming part of the playground committee!
