 Class Work/Trabajo en clase

In Math, we continue to focus on multiplication and recalling our basic facts up to 10x10. Students are encouraged to practice at home by making flash cards of the facts they don't know or accessing multiplication.com, which has fun math games for students to play and practice. In Spanish, we continue to focus on vocabulary related to the city and giving directions. We are hoping to begin creating maps of our imaginary cities next week.In English, we continue to focus on mystery stories and will begin to do some practice writing this week on building suspense. In Social Studies, we finished talking about services and will be moving on to a new topic. In Science, we continue to explore with hearing and sound and may get to work with tuning forks this week. In PE, we are focusing on strategy for Rocks and Rings. In Wellness, we will be moving into the topic of respect in relation to the Seven Sacred Teachings.

NOTE: Due to the Scholastic Book Fair this week, there will be no library.

Notes From the Music Room - Srta. Primak

I cannot believe that in approximately 3 weeks we will have our concerts! I hope that you have all checked your emails to see when your child is performing.   Many students are asking me about costumes etc.  Dalhousie elementary is very fortunate to have beautiful traditional Latin American custom-made costumes.  Some of our classes will be wearing these and others will find their costumes from home.

Spring Concert Costume Information for Grade 3:

We will provide the children with the costumes.  Please come to school wearing:

Girls - white or as close to solid white t-shirts or tank top and tights (any colour).

Boys - dark dress pants and a white or as close to solid white t-shirt.

Regular school shoes

Reminder: Srta. Tugle's class will perform on Thursday, March 23rd at 6:30pm. If your child will not be able to participate on their designated evening due to prior commitments, please email your child’s teacher as well as Srta Primak (oprimak@cbe.ab.ca) to let them know.
